Fools mock at making amends for sin, BUT goodwill is found among the upright. (Prov. 14:9)
It’s not easy to admit we’re wrong, especially when doing so means facing someone we’ve hurt. Our pride would rather make excuses, minimize the damage, or pretend nothing happened. But Proverbs 14:9 reminds us that making things right isn’t something to mock or avoid. It’s an opportunity for grace to do its work. We can’t always undo the harm we’ve caused, and forgiveness isn’t something we can demand. But a sincere apology, a willingness to take responsibility, and an honest effort to make amends can open doors that pride keeps firmly closed. God’s grace doesn’t require us to pretend we haven’t failed. It gives us the courage to acknowledge our failures and take the first steps toward healing.
