The wisdom of the prudent is to give thought to their ways, BUT the folly of fools is deception. (Proverbs 14:8)
Wisdom isn’t simply knowing the difference between right and wrong. It’s being willing to stop and consider where our choices are taking us. The prudent person gives thought to their ways, examining not only what they’re doing, but why they’re doing it and where it might lead. But folly has a way of disguising itself. We can convince ourselves that a poor decision is perfectly reasonable, that a familiar habit isn’t hurting anyone, or that the consequences we’ve managed to avoid so far will never catch up with us. Sometimes the easiest person to deceive is the one looking back at us in the mirror.
