The Pivot: But If They Will Confess

“They will waste away in the lands of their enemies because of their sins… But if they will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors… I will remember my covenant.”
—Leviticus 26:39–42

There are consequences to wandering from God. Leviticus 26 doesn’t soften that truth. Israel’s rebellion would lead them into brokenness, loss, and exile.

But.

Even there, the story wasn’t over.

But if they will confess… I will remember my covenant.

What a pivot. God’s people may wander far, make terrible choices, suffer painful consequences, and find themselves someplace they never imagined they would be. But there is no exile so distant that repentance cannot turn a heart toward home.

God had not forgotten His covenant. He had not abandoned His mercy. Even in the wreckage, He left the door open for return.

For anyone looking back at mistakes, failures, or years they wish they could reclaim, that is good news. Confession doesn’t rewrite yesterday. But grace can change what happens next.

The Pivot: Your worst chapter does not have to be your final chapter. God’s mercy still leaves room to come home. So what are you waiting for?
