Big Buts of the Bible

Every day places us again at a quiet crossroad. Most of the choices before us won’t feel nearly as dramatic as “life and prosperity, death and destruction.” They arrive disguised as ordinary moments—what we give our attention to, what we allow to shape our thinking, how we respond to someone who frustrates us, whether we nurture resentment or extend grace, whether we keep rushing or slow down long enough to remember what matters.

Moses reminds us that the direction of a life is shaped by choices like these. But every new day also brings another opportunity to choose again. To slow down. To turn our hearts toward God. To reconnect with what gives life rather than what drains it. Yesterday’s choices may have brought us somewhere we never intended to go, but today there is a crossroad before us once more. Choose the path that leads toward life.
